Our Head Chef has specifically chosen a selection of 6 delicious options from our café menu and matched each of them with a different beer from our range.
Beer & food match tours run every Friday & Saturday at noon and are great for beer & food lovers, and to enjoy with a group of friends or family.
Please advise the Brewhouse at least 24 hours prior to your tour if you have any food allergies or dietary requirements.
Visit the Carlton Brewhouse, located 5km’s from the Melbourne CBD at Australia’s largest brewery & home of some of the country’s favourite beers including Carlton Draught & Victoria Bitter.
Here you can go on a beer expedition, following the River of Beer through which 150,000 litres of fresh beer flows each day. You’ll be guided through 150 years of brewing history & knowledge as you experience the sheer scale of this iconic facility on the banks of the Yarra. Return to the Brewhouse to sample your favourite brewery fresh beers, savour some lunch, play in the Brewer’s Yard or enjoy some fun and games on our new touch screen display.
The Tour & Tasting includes a guided tour of the brewery followed by a tasting of your choice of six great brews from our extensive range. (Duration approx. 90 mins)
Beer & Food matched tours are available every Friday & Saturday at noon. After the brewery tour, enjoy a hosted lunch with your tour guide who will talk through the specially prepared food that is matched perfectly with our fresh, cold beers. Duration approx. 2 hours.
Catch the 109 tram eastbound towards Box Hill from Collins St in Melbourne’s CBD. Allow about 20mins for the tram journey and disembark at stop #22, then walk back one block in the direction you came from and turn right down Thompson St. The Carlton Brewhouse is located at 24 Thompson Street.
The Carlton Brewhouse is located at 24 Thompson Street in Abbotsford, Victoria - approximately 5km or a 15-minute drive from Melbourne's CBD. Please be aware that from 21st December 2017 there will be no public parking available at the Brewhouse, with only limited street parking available. Public transport is recommended.
Our Brewery Bus provides weekly, complimentary pick-ups from Federation Square in Melbourne's CBD. The bus picks up from outside ACMI on Flinders Street every Friday at 10.30am for the 11am tour and 12.30pm for the 1pm tour, ask at the Brewhouse if there is a return transfer to the city and what time.
This is a real-life working brewery, so all tour guests must wear CLOSED-TOP SHOES (no thongs or sandals) as a safety requirement. We also reccommend a hat and sunscreen during the warmer months. No photography is permitted whilst on tour, to protect our trade secrets, however photos before and after the tour in the Brewhouse are definitely encouraged! You can rent a locker for a small charge.
Please note: This is a genuine working brewery and production schedules vary. Generally, the bottling line does not operate on Saturdays, Sundays and some Fridays.
Who can join the tour?
All tour guests must be 18 years or older. It is a Health and Safety requirement that tour guests must not consume alcohol prior to taking the tour.
There’s one kilometre of walking and a number of stairs, with no lifts or ramps available, so please contact us to discuss options if you have mobility requirements.
Groups of 10 or more should complete and return a group booking form to email@example.com.
